Which Hobie 16s come with Comptip masts? Is it now all of them or does it depend upon where they are built? Thanks |

Boats built in the US only from around 1986 to present. Older boats may have been retrofitted or may have all-aluminum masts. Everywhere else in the world uses all-aluminum masts sm |

Early 85's came with all aluminum and the change began as the year progressed. |

My 85 was all alum. Around 88 or so Hobie changed the US rules and the old masts ceased to be class legal for racing in the US. Hobie did supply comp tips free of charge through dealers. We did about 20 16's on a Sat. Sad to cut up all those alum masts! |
