Do the Jib Battons make a big diff to setting the sail?? |

Yes. The leech of the jib has a lot of roach (curve) to it - without the battens, it will flutter badly. If you want to go without battens, get the roller-furling setup. |

furthermore you will destroy the shape of your jib with out the battens. |
