Post subject: | No luff wire on the jib |
Hi All I just brought an 85-91 (I Think) Hobie 16, when I had a closer look at it at home and started doing some research I noticed the jib doesn't have a luff wire but has clips all the way down the luff side of the jib, could I just clip these onto the front halyard and use it that way? or make up a separate luff wire and clip it to that? Thanks in advance. |

If the rig is very tight you can hoist using the hanks. |

Sounds like it isn’t a stock Hobie 16 jib. You will probably want to have a closer look at that, since using the wrong jib could cause other problems like the sheeting angle for the blocks being off. That would make it hard to trim the jib properly which could make sailing upwind quite difficult. sm |
