I have seen different numbers for the total sail area of a H16: 218 ft2 and 203 ft2. Some sources are showing the main sail at 148.2 ft2 and the jib at 55.1 ft2. I had the 87 Blue Prism but now have 2020 Tortola sails. What are the actual sail areas for the jib and main sails for a US H16? |

I'd go with the hobie page, 148.2+55.1=203.3 ft2. Wiki says 148+55=218, which is bad math. |

Still not sure whether 203 or 218 is the correct sail area for a H16. The Hobie website: https://www.hobie.com/sail/hobie-16/, lists the Hobie 16 sail area at 218 ft2. It does not break it down any further for the jib and main.  This Hobie website: https://www.hobie.com/xe/en/sail/hobie-16/, lists the H16 sail area at 203 ft2 (55.1 +148.2).

Is there a chance the boom and mast areas are included in the 'Total Sail Area" calc? |
