I have 1980 16' Hobie. The tang on the bottom of the mast broke. Can a new mast base (Part #20640011) be installed on the mast without having to install a new socket on the front cross bar? Can I drill the pin out of the old mast socket and use the mast raising linkage kit? Any info appreciated Thanks. |

You can remove the pin from the mast step and install a link kit. A new mast base should be compatible with an old step, but not guaranteed as those parts have evolved somewhat over the years. https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/21380001.pdf sm |
