What is the felt pad used for in the Mast Stepper II kit (#3155)? |

In the instructions when used for a H17, 20 or Getaway (masts rotated to the side 90 degrees)... it protects the mast from scratches. Quote: 4. Getaway, H-17 and H-20 : Attach an 8' line to rotater arm (H-17 Sport: to end of base casting) and tie off to gin pole to force mast to 90 degree rotation for stepping.
