I just sold a set of sails with a very low number, 128. Both had Hobie patches. The jib was cut differently and didn't have battens. Did Hobie change their H16 jib cut at some point?

The sails were really crispy, they were hardly used. Is there a market for antique H16 sails?

Probably not, how much did you sell them for?

$500. How do you know that these Hobie sails were not original? Did the jib cut never change?

Unlikely that very old sails would be so crisp. Sails can be ordered with any number you want on them. The stock jib cut was changed at some point to accommodate more mask rake but had batten pockets nonetheless. No batten pockets indicates a roller furling jib.

I wish I had taken pictures before I sold it... Maybe I'll ask the guy to take them and send them to me.

The jib did not have batten pockets. It could have been furled though...
