Last night I had the opportunity to test my Easy Rite line and found out that I could not reach the Easy Rite line over the hull but could only reach it under the hull that was out of the water. I am 5'7" and at the time "granted I was in a bit of a hurry" I could only reach the righting line from under the hull, which worked out ok but I'm wondering if others have had this issue. When I was standing on the hull in the water, I could only reach the righting line from inside the hull out of the water, not over the top which I would guess would have given me a bit more leverage. Am I too short or am I missing something? |

I have the Easy Rite bungee, and am 6' tall. Every time I've capsized I have grabbed the bungee from inside the hull - I guess I have never stood on one hull, looked up there and thought that I could get it over the top. One or two people pulling on the bungee pulls it pretty far out - giving good leverage that way. There are lots of posts from people using a standard sheet instead of a bungee - I wonder how far out they can lean from the boat with that setup. There are also lots of posts about people having trouble solo righting - I haven't had that problem, yet, but I'm sure I will run into it. |

I guess if you're 6ft. and can't reach it then I don't feel so bad. You do get a lot of leverage by leaning way out thanks to the bungee. Thanks for the post. |

I tie a 2 ft. thin line on each side of my righting line, right at about where the shrouds are and just flip it over and grab the thin line to reel in the righting line. I'm 6'1 and I can't reach it without it. |
