Does breaking the boat down and re-assembling it aid in wearing down the pylons.I have a new 16 that I want to keep stiff. The choice is store it assembled(costs money) or take it apart and store in garage (free) |

I can't imagine it was cause any wear that you would, or could notice. If you did it every weekend probably be an issue. But once a year would should be fine. Look and see how much of the anodization is being scraped away. That would be a good tell as to how much damage is being done. |

I've done this for years with my 83 H16. It never seems to have done any type of damage what so ever. I also have a friend that lives in Ohio that takes his apart every winter and stores it in his basement and he has never had a problem either. Like the last guy said.....wouldn't do it every weekend! Once a year has never seemed to be a problem. Good luck and happy sailing! |
