I just took the frame off a used 16 because the hulls would woble in the upper castings, only to find that the front pylons have corroded to almost nothing and are paper thin. Someone along the way has pounded 2x4's down the center for support but they also has cracks almost all the way around at or below the bolt holes. I can weld to it with out damaging the hulls. Any ideas? Or does it need new hulls? Buxton |

Please understand I have no personal experience with this kind of repair but it seams to me that you might be about to find some round aluminum pipe that will just fit in the hole, then after cutting it to length epoxy it into the existing hole. If the whole cavity is filled it should add sufficient strength

do a search on this site you will see many fixes... one said something about pouring west systems epoxy into the pylons... don't forget to keep the breather holes open.... look here... then search.... how much do each of your hulls weigh??? http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewt ... ght=pylons |
