I was walking down by the local lake and there were a bunch of old 16's (pre 1990s) lined up on the shore. All but one had rock solid hulls in front of the trampoline. By rock solid I mean I couldnt get them to budge at all even doing a "CPR" type motion. When I did the same test to my '95 hulls, they gave slightly! The port side even made a slight cracking noise. I thought for sure my well kept (coverd when not in the water) '95 would be stronger! They are still strong and I can stil stand on them with no problems, but it just has me worried. Is it the same exact constrcution and I have the beginnings of a problem or are there maybe some manfacturing/design/material differences on newer boats? Any one else with a "newer" boat have hulls that give just slightly? |

Then... no problem. Unless you continue to stand on them and force them to crack while "testing" the stiffness. "New" is not a good description of a 1995 as that is "newer" than a 90, but now 13 years old. There is not a change to construction, but not all boats are the same. They are hand made and materials have varied slightly over the years. |
