ok i already looked in the faqs but they did not help i just bought a rudder cam kit for my 16 but i do not know how they fit in the casing there is a little spring with a plastic ball on it that gets pushed down but when i put the new cams in they just spin around and wont lock in place? |

If the cam spins 360... something is wrong with your castings. The cam should contact the casting at some point. The spring pushes up against the "ball" (plunger). The plunger engages the cam on two points. One deep divit is the down position. A ridge stops it from rotating to far over when unlocked. Picture? |

there is the plunger and i see the two (hooks?) on the cams but it does contact the casing after going about 270 degrees but it wont stop and lock the rudders |

In the right direction? Does the plunger lock the cam in the deeper indent if you use your fingers to rotate it down? If the cam works by itself, but not when using the upper casting (with rudder fully down) you may need to wallow the upper castings bolt hole in the rudder. You can remove the bolt. and lock the casting into the cam and sight through the bolt hole and see a misalignment. This may have been drilled to match a worn cam originally. The new cam forces the casting aft a touch. |
