i just got new standing rigging for my 16 upon inspecting the bridles and forestay i realized that the wires are different like the old forestay is thicker and has two nicropress sleves on it but the new one has only one and is thinner and not as high quality feeling and looking. did hobie change the wires or is this the wrong one the part number i ordered is 20810031. there is also another forestay in the catalog called the lower forestay wich is part number 20810021 the shrouds are the same as the old ones my boat is an 82 |

The forestay isn't structural. It just holds the mast up untill you get the jib halyard tensioned. I wouldn't sweat it. |
