I had to wet sand some areas on my hulls. What is the best way to bring the shine/ gloss back to the areas I sanded? |

Is "thick cut" a type of 3m Perfectit III product? Any polish? What type of pad? What type of wax? Do you use a cleaner first? I've never cleaned my hulls, but I'm looking for products that guys have used that have worked well. I wanted to have a hull cleaning day for the club and wanted some help with what might work in a assembly line type environment. We have buffers. Thoughts on products? Thanks in advance. |

I have done two sets of hulls with this tool: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=92623 You can sometimes get it on sale for $19. Use any of the liquid "Scratch-remover" polishes you can get at Wal-Mart. Get a good wool pad from HF or an autoparts store with the velcro on the back and it will make your hulls shiny. I used the same thing on my airplane and it came out great. I got a mirror-like shine on 6061-T6 Aluminum after a little work. http://www.cooknwithgas.com/Polishing.html I used a product called NuVite on the airplane but it was more expensive than you need for the Hobie hulls.
