I'm looking at another boat--an '89 this time. I haven't looked at it yet, so I'm not sure exactly of condition; seller says immaculate. I know that some year's boats had slightly different characteristics than others and I was just wondering: In general how were '89 boats? Heavy? Light? Anything I should look for in particular? Thanks! |

Something in me wants to say that the 89's were the redline series, but im not sure, that may have been the 84's. I would say to, as with all hobies, check the hulls and make sure they have Zero soft spots in them. That was my first mistake with my first cat. Push down right in front of the pylons and behind them too, if you feel any squish or give, they are starting to delaminate. If you really like the boat, you can get it and install port holes to try and air the hulls out, but id suggest to keep looking if the hulls are squishy. |
