Post subject: | Stake out pole through scupper question |
I see the scupper holes are reinforced with black plastic. Can a stake out pole be used through the scuppers? Assuming the conditions are calm and youre only bass fishing, not fishing for monsters. Thanks. |

I do it all the time and I DO fish for monsters with no problems so far. 40 pound reds and no damage so far. I made a pole out of pvc pipe with wooden dowel inside so it offers some flex. |

I have used the old style scupper holes with stakeout poles not only to post up on fish but to remain stationary after hookup. I cannot foresee how that could become problematic. |

For all I know they could have ruined a basspro special or something with very thin plastic. Figured I’d double check with actual Hobie owners before I stick with a bad habit lol. |
