I am purchasing a new outback and am interested to know if it is ok to transport and store it on pvc upright on my trailer? I currently own a Revo 13 and this has not been a problem. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In the 2019 Outback manual, it does specifically mention to not store the kayak on PVC tubes. I can snap a picture of the page if you're interested.

Do the PVC pipes run front to back or side to side on the trailer? I would guess if they are like bunk rails then it might be OK. Also, why not flip the outback over on the trailer?

I decided just to flip them over for storage and let them ride in the bunks for transport. I did see what the manual said so better safe than sorry. Have not fished out of the outback yet but soon!

Bunks run front to back.

I read that too. I wonder why they say not to store it on PVC. I've seen people do this for years with their Hobies.

I built a 2x4 and plywood rolling storage for my outback so I could roll it to the truck for loading and off loading. I’d post a pic but for the life of me I can’t figure this site out.

I made a rope and pulley system to store my Outback up against the rafters in my garage. The Hobie manual states someplace that it is best to store your kayak upside down. The metal plates on the sides where the H-rails are fore and aft are the perfect spot to have cross pieces support the kayak as it spreads the load to a larger area. I have a couple of videos on my Youtube channel that show how it works and how it is made if you want to check them out. It works really well and is easy to use. Perfect if you don't have space to store it on the ground.
