Post subject:  Replacement hull...what to expect?

Hey guys. I have a 2016 Outback, with some hull damage. I’m working with the dealer and was told I could purchase a replacement hull (out of warranty, etc, no biggie, really appreciate what the dealer and Hobie are doing for me). I’m removing my accessories etc from my old outback right now...but what should I expect, do I need to literally remove every screw and part that isn’t part of the molded plastic hull, or will i see a complete kayak minus the drive and seat? My dealer has not had a warranty hull before. I’m pretty technically minded, so i could do the swap of all parts and pieces myself, just wondering how far I need to go. Thanks in advance.

Can you wait until your dealer gets a replacement hull in stock and see what it includes? Typically you keep your own seat and anything else that you have added. Replacement hull may be some ex demo model, and not necessarily fresh from the production line given that it is replacing an older model, but that will depend on how much $ you are being asked to contribute. It will come with basics like rudders, seat attachment rails and essential fittings.

Do you have to hand in your old one in exchange?

Update, replacement hull ordered, it sounds like it will be a complete boat, minus the drive and seat. I have removed stuff like anchor trolley, square hatch, rails, etc. The season is almost up for me, ( I live pretty far north), so I will have lots of time to set up the new boat after it arrives. My dealer is about 3.5 hours away, so if I have to bring in my old hull, I would prefer to have everything done before I get there.

Hey Guys, Turns out I am still waiting on a replacement boat from my Dealer. I would appreciate it if anyone from Hobie could reach out to me (if this little gem isn't completely buried in the forums). Long story short, I broke my hull over a year ago, and paid a deposit to my dealer, and I am still waiting. Thanks in Advance.
