I have had a number of roller bearing failures on my mirage 180. Most have probably come from grounding the fins in shallow water. The failures result in flat spots on the rollers. My question: where can I source replacement rollers? Thanks Dave G |

We don't have a supply of the bearings, so I would request a new spine via warranty due to the bearing damage. Likely the races are also worn. |

I'm having the same issue, front bearing race is severely pitted. How long is the warranty? Also, should grease be used to lubricate the bearings? Thanks |

2 years before 2019 model year. Now 3 years, but the spines we will either extend coverage or offer at a greatly reduced cost... all through the warranty department. |

So could this bearing issue be the cause of my squeaky drive? Also my drive has a noticeable knocking or clunking. I’m reluctant to tear it apart to inspect the bearings. Mine is a 2017 model and I never ever have beached it. ~JOE~ |

Could be the bearings. Try lubrication first and check that chains are not too tight. |

I lubricate like crazy and the chains are on the loose side. Lubrication will silence it for maybe an hour and sometimes not at all. The clicking/clunking noise is intermittent. Also it only squeaks when in the water. I can’t replicate it off the kayak. Should I bring it in to my dealer and see if Hobie will extend my warranty? I bought my yak in August of 2017 so it’s just past the 2 year mark. Thanks for responding. ~JOE~ |

May be bearings that were flattened... yes, ask your dealer to file a claim for you. |

Thanks for the response. I took a few pics of the bearing races but can't seem to figure out how to post them here. If you think it would be helpful I can e mail them to you and you can post them. The bearings themselves don't look too bad but the races are severely pitted. |
