I checked the Hobie templates for transducers, but there wasn't any information for Garmins. I'm thinking of getting an Outback and was wondering if I could install the garmin GT51(sideview) or GT23 transom transducers?

Not sure if the transducers are the same, but I mounted a Garmin Echo transducer to the Hobie AI/TI Lowrance plate with ease. Cut one of the plastic uprights and fastened the transducer to the plate with two plastic wire tires. Very clean and very effective. Not sure how to post photos here, however. If you can't figure it out, send me a private message and I'll get you some photos by email.

I made my own for my GT50-TM by taping some paper to the transducer and then poking holes where the screw holes were. It seemed to work well and was not too hard to do.
