Hobie Outback Rudder wont drop down

Post subject:  Hobie Outback Rudder wont drop down
I have a 2019 Hobie Outback and when I go to drop the rudder down it stays up. It will eventually drop down after wiggling the steering handles for a bit but seems to continue to get worse. Was wondering if anyone knows an easy (or hard) fix to ensure that it wont get stuck up anymore.

I'm having the same issue with our 2020 Outback. Saw a guy last weekend having the same issue with his 2019. It took him about 10 minutes to get his rudder to release. After reading on another forum there are a lot of people having this issue. This does not appear to be an isolated issue.

Has to be one of maybe three possible issues.

Is the released (up) line actually slack at the rudder (if not, check for hang-ups inside the hull. Maybe a foam block is pinching the line?). If so, is the pivot point in the housing too tight and causing too much friction to allow the spring to push the rudder down? Is the sprint in place?
