Hi everyone. I have a 2011 outback that has tight steering. I have narrowed it down to the brass nut that is fitted into the kayaks plastic. It seems to have welded itself on to the staino fitting. It is spinning in the hull hence the tight steering. Had anyone experienced this issue before? Thanks

I don't know what you are calling the "staino fitting"......maybe stainless steel???

Have you seen this link on the "twist and stow" system operation? https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_ass ... 1577885901

Is is the brass at the steering handle? Yes, corrosion could be an issue. Maybe of penetrating oil? If you could get the stainless loose in the brass, maybe that would be all you would need to do.
