| Post subject: | 2020 Hobie outback severe water leak??? |
I purchased a 2020 Hobie outback on 6/26/20 Ive taken it out 4 times and have had a minimum of 5 gallons of water inside every trip. The front hatch has both gaskets installed and seems to be sealing the screw-in plug has the o-ring and is tight Ive searched for cracks i cannot find anything wrong. Please help.... Im very dissipointed we all know what these things cost im beginning to wonder if I made the wrong choice in kayaks. |

Dry out the hull and use a water hose on each potential spot and check for water in the hull after soaking each spot. Then fill the hull with a water hose and look to see if it drains out. |

Make a warranty claim, and stop using the kayak. It isn't safe to use a kayak which will let in 5 gallons of water during a trip. |

My 2019 had a crack at one of the rear scuppers, they replaced it, no problem. Great service. |

I was notified by the dealer that my hull was approved for warranty, what happens next? the dealer told me he thinks they will ship to him and I need to go down and swap them out, I have heard others on social media say the new hull was shipped to them and had to prove to Hobie they destroyed the old hull. |

Typically shipped to the dealer. They then cut the warrantied hull and send us the serial number area of the hull as proof. |
