Post subject:  Seat

Hello all
I just bought a 2006 outback Hank Parker edition last night.
I am looking to upgrade the seat but have not found much out there for this year.
Not sure if a raised stadium seat or like the browning turkey chair would work in this situation
due to lower section or rear deck having that cut out in this year. Has anyone replaced theirs in
this year with the cooler cut out and still been able to do so with a raised seat?

Hi
Have a look at the following post from 2013/14 (I think). https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=55876 I hope it works for you and is helpful to you. I fitted a Jackson seat to my 2013 Outback and I would say it's the best thing I've ever done to it.
Also have a look at this (I hope it works, I'm not very good at this  ) it looks very similar to the Jackson seat I used. Blackhawk Kayak Hard Seat - Catch.com.au

Regards
Steve

I have what I believe is a 2005 l could not find anything to my liking to fit
The Jackson kayak seat is what I started with cost was $200 but the frame didn’t sit below the side rails causing the center of gravity to high
Take the fabric off and toss the frame in recycle bin
Next I took 3/4 copper and hand made a frame that sits down into seat well 1” off the lowest point
By using 45,90& long swep 90 elbows and a tubing bender on straight pieces hand form a seat frame bottom and seat frame back then used stainless steel eye bolts and other stainless steel bolts to put the two frames together to make the seat adjustable
The copper pieces and stainless hardware was another $100
I brazed all the copper pieces using silver solder
Painted frame to protect
Slip the fabric on and adjust Velcro straps
Fabrication time to build to seat 6 hours since I didn’t have a pattern to start with
