I am considering replacing the round center round hatch with a rectangular hatch on my Passport 12, will the rectangular bucket fit in if I do? Is there EVA padding that matches the gray passport EVA padding that can be added to the hatch cover? |

Well, I just went ahead and added the rectangular hatch to the center of my Passport 12 and the storage box fit just fine. |

I just saw this post, but you have already found out that it fits no problem. I have not seen that there is deck pad for the lid but I haven't looked either. |

Not sure if you ever figured out the padding, but did notice on the official hobie YouTube passport hatch installation (or maybe outfitting a passport 12 for fishing video?) they mention padding on hatch not necessary. Reasoning was side padding more flush therefore more comfortable with top of rectangular hatch as is. I have seen a third party that does custom padding that had the passport 12 grid - looked nice and there were lots of colors including a few grays and black to choose from, so if you are still in the market, it's out there. |
