Hello, I have a passport 12 and the steering rod continues to fall out of the steering assembly inside the hull. It look like the rod does not have a mechanism to tightly fit into the steering assembly? Am I missing something? How do I fix this? Thanks Toby |

I have not had these issues yet. I do have to tighten the tiller to hull frequently and wish the tiller was larger and smoother. Maybe Honor can respond to a follow up question of mine. As I do feel the steering is a weak point for the passport, I'm wondering if it can be y Upgraded to the steering system used by the lynx and the inflatable hobies? |

A lot of these posts are going unanswered. Is there some reason? It doesn't bode well for this forum. I used a hobby version of cyanoacrylate, (CA or Crazy Glue) where the rod is inserted into the tiller. Five minute epoxy would also work. Don't forget silicone lube to reduce the drag that develops between the rubber gasket and the control rod where it exits the stern. George |
