Matt - possibly you could answer this….. Which exact turbo fins are the correct part for the Lynx. I picked up a Lynx in Eugene today and was going to have the dealer add Turbo fins. The ones he had in stock weren’t even close to a match and he couldn’t add them. He had turbo for 180 drive but seems these are a possible new design? Thanks in advance.

I have (2) Lynx. Now one has turbo fins and one doesn't. My wife and I tested these today.
We raced. I had the turbo fins - and all I could do was get about 1 length ahead of her.
We switched the pedals. and now she had the fins. We raced. We were neck and neck.

It does seem that with turbo's your cadence is lower - and you get the same speed.

Putting the two side by side - the turbo's are only about 1-1/2" longer, a little wider.

Conclusion: I'm not buying another pair. Too expensive for the minor gain.

For a 12 hour day covering as many miles - that's exactly what you want!

I purchased a 2020 outback with kick-up fins. I also upgraded to an Arc drive with turbo fins using our 2017 Compass GT drive. I was puzzled as to how much of a difference the two drives had. I even went as far as to trim the turbo fins down to match the size of the kick-up fins. The thought was that the slightly shorter length would make the fins slightly easier to peddle and match the kick-up find drive. No matter what I did I could not get the older arc drive to behave like the new kick-up drive. It seems like there is less resistance on the new drive which gives you a butter smooth stroke. Not only was it smoother but the smoothness transferred into a faster pace than the Turbo fins could provide. Hobie hit the perfect sweet spot between the design of the drive, length and size of the fins. IMHO the turbo fins were a hack to get more speed from the original drive. This new drive needs no hacks and will ultimately end up costing Hobie some turbo fin sales. lol Great Job Hobie!! Can't wait to pick up two Lynx!
