Old original H14 mast heads are hard to find. I've seen references to fitting a twin sheave comp mast head on a regular all aluminum H14 mast. The only suggestion was that you had to use the comp tip halyard with the new mast head. Does anyone know if this is doable or has done it? Any insight would be much appreciated. David J

The H14 Mast head is not a prefect fit with the aluminum extrusion, but it could work. I have not seen that done. On the 16 it is way more straight forward / good fit.

Not sure about the H14, but on the H16 I believe the halyard hook would have to be relocated as well due to a different distance between the mainsail head shackle and the nicropress fitting.

If your issue is only with the masthead sheeve, some folks have apparently been 3D printing those for the old H16s, so you may want to check into that.

It fit perfectly when I installed it on an 80s vintage black anodized mast, and the halyard hook is the same spot.
It works real well I am using it on my boat (H14)

That's good news Mike, Did you have to cut off the tail that would stick down into the mast?, or did it fit on the aluminum section and just require riveting in place? Much obliged for any additional details or photos. David
