Hi, I have just nought a H17SE. Looks about 15 years old. Does anyone know where I can source a cover for it in the UK? Also, Is PTFE spray a suitable lube for blocks? Cheers |

What type of cover are you looking for? The cheapest and easiest route is to just use a large tarp. Custom and trailerable covers may be hard to come by. I got my custom H17 cover from Salty Dog marine four years ago, but its my understanding that they don't make covers anymore. Hobie has a generic catamaran cover in their catalog. As for lube, most people use silicone spray (available at any auto parts store) or McLube. You want to use a dry film lubricant. Something that isn't oil based and doesn't attract dirt. sm |

Hi SM, Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get a cover that will lie over the length of both hulls, I'm in Cyprus and the sun just destroys any man made materials (including GRP). But, as you intimate, I think a bespoke cover will be pricey so I might just get a tarp. I've been using Silicon spray and it works well, I was just thinking that PTFE teflon spray might last a little longer since it seems to be the stuff used on inaccessible machine parts. Cheers M |
