Trying to replace my trampoline on 86 hobie 17. Is there a way to replace the rear without disassembling the crossbar? and if I have to take it apart, is there an easy way to do that? thanks |

you should be able to remover the tramp from the tramp removal slot in the center of the cross bar. Pull it out from the middle and both ends should start to slide out at the same time. http://static.hobiecat.com/2010_archive/support/pdfs/H17Manual.pdf The page with the updates on it also explains it. |

Older boats don't have a removal slot. You're going to have to take the boat apart. Invest in a "T" handle allen wrench. It's the 17 sailor's best friend. Once you get it apart and take the tramp off, use a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the crossbar like the new boats. |

so with that philosophy, couldn't I use the dremel tool to cut a slot before i take the tramp off and then remove it? then i wouldn't have to take the boat apart. |

You could, if you're careful and you don't care if you booger up your trampoline bolt rope a little. It's a lot easier to do with the tramp off. |
