Guys: What is the best to glue black thin non skid to Sunrise mesh tramp wings. I have tried contact cement and 3M Adhesive. My only other thought is taking wings apart and taking he to a sailmaker to remove stitching, stitch it on and restitch seam. Any thoughts? Doug |

Good afternoon Doug, I don't think anything will adhere to the nylon mesh that won't possibly weaken it. Stitching would be best. I would just take the whole sheebang to a sailmaker and let him figure it out - they're good that way. It might be simpler than you think. One other thought, get yourself a sewing palm, an upholstry needle, nylon thread, and do it yourself. a little " IXXXI " pattern should do the trick. Do not drink while doing this however, a needle in the finger could hurt ... not that I would know. ![]() |

I think I am just going to remove all the glue and just use booties when on the wire. Doug |

I did not understand that you wanted non-skid on the rail-edge of the wing. I thought you wanted it on the wing surface to help keep your butt in place or to help when you are climbing out. (hmm - not a bad idea). Anyway, booties or water shoes are usually standard operating equipment to protect your feet from beach hazards as well as protect your toes from jamming an adjustment plate between them. Man, that smarts... ![]() Sounds like the best solution is usually the most simple - Happy Sails! -Stephen |
