Hi All, I've just purchased a HC17 and I'm considering a righting line but have questions on how to set it up? Anyone here with preferences of brands and how connect the line with the cross beams? //Mats |

The simplest system is a ~15 foot (5 m) line with a large enough diameter to be easy on the hands, tied to the dolphin striker and stuffed into the trampoline pocket or a trampoline storage bag. When you need it, pull it out, throw it over the upper hull, grab on and lean back. Once the boat is up, stuff the line back in where you had it. None of the quick-retraction systems marketed for the Hobie 16 work particularly well on the 17. A righting line isn't something to be "considered" for any catamaran - it's a required piece of safety equipment. You don't go sailing without one. |
