I bought the boat from some guy in the middle of a corn feild. it came with a sail that is not for the boat. I have sence bought a main sail for it and have just used that, but would like to try to get the turbo on it. The extra sail I have mesures ; 14.5 (mast height) 7' (boom length) and roughly 16'(from top of mast to end of boom). Can I cut this down to make a jib sail for my Hobie Cat 14 Turbo? Where can I get a pattern for the sail? I would like to buy a new one and have found many online, but would like to take the cheap route first to see if its worth it. |

I don't have the measurements... and my jib is furled on my boat... and to measure I'd have to drop the mast.... don't plan on doing that until winter.... but yeah, it's worth it to have a jib.... it's like a different boat to me.... furled jib... or jib out and jammin.... i only furl the jib when it's REALLY REALLY blowing... OR... when it's just REALLY ( 1 really ) and I'm going downwind...'cause of the small fore hulls wanting to dig in and send me end-over... ![]() So... you've got a turbo setup... just no jib? ( meaning the dolphin striker wire, trap lines... bridles, furler, etc.. just no jib? ) Cheers, Rob H14T & H18SX |

Like Rob said, there's a lot more to the Turbo conversion than "just adding a sail": Dolphin striker Jib sheet cleat support wire Jib sheet blocks Jib sheets cleats Jib sheet Turbo forestay assembly (includes bridles, furler, forestay and upper forestay assy w/swivel) Furler cleat and line Trapeze is optional, but really nice to have. |

Hey Rob, Can you possibly measure the foot of your hobie 14 T jib ? Just unfurl it and take a tape measure. I would really appreciate it, since I am kinda playing around with a used hobie 14 turbo jib I recently got, which has really odd look to it?? Thanks in advance. Garry |
