Post subject: | Old rudder blades vs new rudder blades |
Did Hobie change the position of the bolt holes at some point? I have an older parts boat and the old rudder blades don't seem to fit on the new boat (neither do the castings... the spaces that go around the gudgeons are different from the new one). Question is... did they change one or both rudder hole locations? I have a set of "new" blades to use as a template, and it looks like the top holes are in the same location but I want to be sure before I fill and drill. I also have 1 EPO, and the bolt holes on that are different, and it doesn't fit in between the casting. Thanks! |

The old EPO was pretty thick and required grinding the castings to fit in most cases. The rudder rake adjustments have changed. The newer castings are adjustable and the hole locations were changed slightly. There is a template, but best to adjust manually. Follow guidelines in our FAQ here: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=467 I don't recall a change in the hull gudgeon positions. That fit is unchanged. |
