Hi I want to remove the boom end cap, mast end. But it seems to be stuck fast, despite drilling out the rivets. Any suggestion in how to remove it? Cheers |

Large blade screw driver or punch inserted in the luff track... against a ridge of the casting and hammer out. The get bound up by salt or corrosion. |

I can't do that, because at the mast end, the cap is flush to the boom extrusion, and does not extend up to the track. Its a bit of an issue. Cheers |

I still think you can get a bite of the cap using a blade driver or punch. Just get an angle on it and WACK it. |

OK, hammering did not work. So I tied the boom to a tree, put a loop of rope though the gooseneck fitting on the end cap, which connected to the tow ball on the car and drove off. With a loud noise, out came the end cap. |
