Ok, first off let me say love this forum, getting tons of useful tips and info to help get the old 14 turbo I picked up as a project back on the water. While replacing the rudder pins I noticed the hull is really worn were the pins go through. On the bottom there is a metal attachment that the pin goes through but nothing on the top. Is something missing ? If not what do you do to prevent this wear from getting worse ? ![]() ![]() |

It's not really "wear" nor is it a structural part of the rudder system. In fact, the class rules allow you to notch that hole out completely. Don't worry about it. |

Just check that when the rudder is in place that there is not too much play / slop in the housing. The bushing in the top pin guide had actually came out on mine, si I just replaced both top an bottom guides. |
