Post subject:  Advice for a Newbie to Hobie 14s and how to transport them

Just bought my first Hobie 14 (No 61079) after years of dinghy sailing inc Lasers. I live in Cardiff UK but mainly going to sail it on a lake in SW France for 3 weeks each year. In order to collect it from the other side of the country and take it to France next year I'm hoping to dismantle it...is this easy and what tools will I need apart from a rubber mallet.

How far apart are the hulls if I leave it assembled and use a trailer?

The tramp has some rear eyelets missing....should I replace it and if so where from?

Anything else I need to know...cant wait to sail her! Hope the photo is visible.

Sorry for so many qus but thanks in advance. Diolch (Welsh for cheers!).

Also can someone confirm that mine is a turbo as it has a jib: I understand the tramp is different. Thanks

Yes, that is a Hobie 14 Turbo.

You can buy a grommet kit that has grommets and tools for setting them. In the US it is #2061 Kit with 24 grommets $35.95

I don't have a measurement at the keel, but the hulls "beam" (full width measurement is 7' 8")
