I paid $1000 for a 14 and trailer in essentially the same condition about 5 years ago (from South Carolina).
It wasn't a Turbo, but it was an '85 that weighed 8 lbs under minimum weight.

Hello all - Need your best estimate of a fair price for a 1980-82 14 Turbo. Details - Hulls look sound, no soft spots, no cracks, tramp castings are reasonably tight, tramp is original blue vinyl (hard but not torn), has all turbo hardware, rudders not beat up, cams still lock, mast is straight, no comptip, has dolphin striker, traps & wires, aft footstraps. Also galvanized trailer in good shape, designed for the 14, on the mast "stanchion" it has a ball which locks into the mast step, tires are flat but not rotted, not sure if lights work. He has sails, but I haven't examined them yet. Based on the condition of the boat, I'm guessing that they're in pretty good shape. Needs - new lines, dirt & mildew removal (been outdoors in south GA for 10 years), possibly new tramp, rudder pins, bearing buddies Owner said he paid $1100 for it in 1992. Any estimates appreciated. |

I would post some photos, if I knew how .... One change in the description - soft spots in hull. Both hulls have areas on the top decks which, when pressed with both hands using arm strength, go "crunch" and give a little. Classic soft spots ?? Forward of the front pylon, between the pylons, and aft of the rear pylon. Is this a deal-breaker, assuming that I can get it for $500 ?? I'm willing to go the Git-Rot route. I lifted one bow, and there is little flex - the other bow lifted fairly quickly. I know this is a subjective thing, but I remember my late great 14 which had all kinds of slop in the castings. I've been looking around for 9 months, all over south Georgia and north Florida ... no luck, without driving 200 miles. Also, I know the owner of this one. A bird in the hand, as they say ....... ?? |

There's a boat for sale in Richmond, VA that looks promising. Another in FL and another in Pennsylvania. Don't buy someone else's problem. |
