Post subject:  To buy or not to buy ?!?!?

Hello

I am quite new to Hobies, but i have passed sailing training and have sailed few times with Hobie 16. So is my friend, who joins me sometimes. I weigh about 90kgs and my friend is about 85kgs.

Recently i saw a great offer for Hobie Cat 14 Turbo and I am thinking of buying it for 2 seasons (to learn how to sail), but there is the question for what I am looking for an answer:

Is it reasonable to buy it, because our team weighs 175kgs (quite a lot for a little boat) and maybe after sailing few months we think it is a small and too slow for us and we need to look for another and bigger boat?

I would like to buy Hobie 16, but there is not any reasonable offers in our country, that is why i ask the question.

Thanks for the answers

Its a greatboat to learn how to sail. Because it is a turbo has a jib the 2 of you would be fine on it. I'm going to have to convert your weight into pounds so im not sure or have an answer about the wait question. Good luck on your search. Look for a 16 though, im not sure where your located but they pop up where im at all the time some good deals and some bad. But good luck on your search.

over 70-75kgs on the 14, performance starts to deteriorate

at 175kgs, you're sinking
