hi yesterday we capsized or h14t and couldn't get it up later we had a motor boats help but we still couldn't right it we ended up draging it into shore like it was and ripping our main and snapping battons ![]() ![]() ![]() thanx TATE |

The helping boat should lift the mast out of the water and pull it around to the upwind side if possible. That would make righting easier. They can lift the mast and "walk" their hands towards the boat while lifting and get it nearly upright. If the boat is turtled they could carefully / slowly pull the boat sideways in a down wind direction. The sail acting like a sea anchor dragging through the water will turn the boat on its side. You should site on the downwind hull and allow the upwind hull to rise. |

2 people should have been able to right it. Do you have a righting line? Also check to see if your mast is water tight. Check the support pages on how to right your cat: http://www.hobiecat.com/support/ |

no we dident have a righting line ( we are getting one ) but we untied the main sheet and used that & i just checked if the mast was water tight it wasent ![]() ![]() thanx for your help TATE |
