The Hobie track rivets are about 3-4 inches apart. The Harken tracks use screws. You would have to drill and then tap into the aluminum.

I do not recommend a Harken track on a Hobie 16. If anything, upgrade to the newer "deep profile" track and the car with rollers using the brass wheels. Much smoother and stronger. The new cars (since... 1995) have had axles that are the same diameter of the original wheels and then larger brass wheels. The larger wheels needed deeper tracks. I have yet to hear of a newer car wearing a track, car or anything.

The deep track is # 50252021
Newer car # 111
(Just the lower portion is needed for an upgrade)
Lower roller unit # 112
Takes 20 # 8010201 Flat head Rivets

u have right...
but i have a new harken cb car like a spare, and i live in italy in rome....
this means that find hobies spare is really difficult and extremely expensive...i have the same problem with ice hockey :(
last week i was looking for the replacement hobie car and a place here in rome ask me 110 euros just for bottom parts with the wheel.
i can buy the harken travel 2720 for about 60€.
i really hate the italian mind...they knows that there are only few places where buy hockey or hobie gear and they keep the prices high just because we have no choice.....
thanx a lot
