I am thinking of buying these, converting them, and selling them for a cheap price. It's just a matter of finding a local sail loft that is willing to do the work.

I should have mine completed tonight. Pictures up later!

Longer and shorter than what? Just start with something same size or bigger and it can be done...

Yes the foot is shorter, and the luff is longer. I took this same sail and cut the top to make it flat, and it works great. I will post pictures later.

What do you think? I think I need a new camera.

The sail performs magnificently! The battens are adjustable with an allen key too! :)

I do use the 14 mast and boom. The sail is loose footed..., but I attach either end to the boom. Maybe tonight I will try it without the boom.

Post subject:  Same Sail Same Boat different results.

Hello

I just got the same sail and I have the same boat. But I hoisted her up for the first time today, and a lot has to come off. It is a big sail. I measured 34" has to come off the peak or foot for the boom to clear my skull sitting on the tramp.

From the photos it looks like you just took no more than 12-20 inches off the peak. Is your mast taller? Something doesnt jibe. The cut of the sail really is nice I would rather avoid cutting the peak it is such a pretty shape, although yours is very nice as well. I will post pictures as I make my cuts etc.. I might just take the full 34" off the foot and lose some sail area but that way I can sew in a rope to slip it in the boom track as well.

Post subject:  H14 with mylar sail

I have pics of a H14 with the Escape sail - email me for pics. Dave, I had a rope bolt put on the sail so it's no longer loose footed. [email protected] Live slow, sail fast Ralph

If anyone could respond with the lengths or how they modified this sail for use on a 14 it would greatly help...I'm stuck!
