Post subject:  Loose footed main sail... any advantages to a 14T?

I'm thinking about making my main a "loose foot" so that I can control my outhaul.

I've got an original 1986 sail, added a 6:1 downhaul and, played with my battens to get a better sail shape. My Hobie 14T sails great with these mods. (the downhaul was an eye-opener and everyone should have one) but, can the outhaul add anything to my boat? After 50 years this must have been done?

I would like to buy a fathead main but... wife wants stuff too! I got no $$$$$.

It's always a conundrum... If you have a partner, right?

Thanks
