I had a hobie 12 Mono Cat when I was a kid. As I remeber Hobie came out with a small cat that looked just like a Hobie 14. It was either called the Hobie 11 or possibly the Hobie 10.5. Anybody remember this boat. I can't find anything on google about it. I also remember a mono hulled boat called the Hobie 10. I can't find anything on google for that either. Somebody must have a hobie product history out there. |

The Hobie 11 (or 3.5 [meter]) was introduced as a kids' boat in the mid 70's. It looks just like a 14, but the rudders are wooden. They show up on eBay every now and then. A guy in my fleet had one for a while. They are incredibly tiny and really unsuitable for anybody that weighs over 100 lbs. There's another thread that discusses the Hobie 10: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2625 |

Thanks for the reply. I used to love that Hobie 12 Brochure. I would look at the pictures and dream about sailing.......... I want to see the brochure for the Hobie 11 or 3.5! Better yet I want to see one in person. I would have loved to sail one of those when I was 12 years old! How about a Hobie 11 turbo! |
