Hi I only weigh 140 pounds, so righting the 14 is very very difficult. I am planning on getting a righting frame. Does anyone have a righting frame, if so could you tell me how well it works, and if possible send me some photos. Thanks guys |

Get a righting bucket. Simply fill with water for extra weight when needed. They are shown in the catalog. Light, compact and simple to use. You need only a little extra help if you are 140 lbs. |

HEY, ANOTHER WAY TO GET EXTRA HELP IS MY POINTING THE MAST INTO THE WIND SO IT IS BLOWING ON THE TRAMP AND THAT SHOULD HELP YOU. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT IN HEAVY WIND BECAUSEWHEN YOUR MAST POPS UP THE WIND WILL CATCH IT AND THROW YOUR RIGHT BACK OVER THEN THE WIND IS PUSHING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT AND WILL MOST LIKELY TURTLE IT. A good idea to try a righting bag, but, not a Hobie bag because they leak too much. Get one from Murrays instead. As much as I know that Hobie stuff is tough, dependable, and as claimed... the bags are not! |
