I'm new to sailing and am looking at several used Hobie 14. i have a good idea about condition but it is hard to nail down prices for this and the 16. what is the best resorce for pricing these boats?

Age, condition and local sailing are key. I've bought several 80's Hobie 16's that needed work for $500-$800 with trailers but depending where you live I've seen very nice sold H14's out there that were well worth $1500...
If you find a boat your interested in, post pictures and a link here. Better yet try to find other Hobie guys near you to bounce a potential boat purchase off of. it's better to spend more up front on a boat that needs nothing vs trying to find all kinds of parts to make one complete.

If you plan on sailing with other people on your boat with you, consider a 16. If you sail mostly alone a 14 can be a lot of fun.
