I ran my new blocks with my 5/16 salsa line today. I loved the way that the line ran through the blocks, feels great on my hands, and just "felt good".

I had one issue: when the wind would pick up to 20 or so (it was a steady 12-15 today), the line would slip through the traveler cam cleat, especially on a beam reach when running the traveler at the straps.

I would hit a puff, turn down, and the line would slip and uncleat the traveler.

I have a factory traveler cleat. Is there an upgrade that holds the 5/16 salsa line better? I never had the issue with the old Mainsheet.

Today wasn't a total loss though, a second H14 showed up for a rare sighting of two 14's in the same place at the same time.

From what I can tell, your "factory cleat" is one from the '80s. They don't work nearly as well as the modern cleats (Harken or Ronstan).

Harken 240 is what you want:

Replace the bullseye with Harken 161 dual sheaves for very low friction operation:

Hobie dealers also sell similar hardware.

Yup, that's exactly what I need. Just ordered one. Thanks!

Hey Matt...do you use that 161 on the traveler car as well?

What's the verdict RE: the 161 on the traveler car?

Probably overkill. If you have problems with the car itself moving smoothly, most likely the cars' pin bearings are worn.

Harken 161 is too big for the bullseye. The bullseye screws are just over an inch apart, the 161 doesn't fit...if you go smaller, it may not handle a 5/16 mainsheet.

The harken covers for the sheaves have screws set over 1.5 inches apart.

Is there an adaptor of sorts that I'm missing?

Any way to make the 161 work? 14/16 should be the same traveler cam/swivel...right? In this pic, the "traveler tamer" looks like it is offset in the screw holes, or maybe it's just the angle.
