Post subject: | Shipping Hobie mast |
Need to ship a Hobie 14 mast from Chicago to San Francisco. Does anybody have suggestions on how to get it shipped? Best shippers? Cost? Is separating into 2 pieces possible. Removing the rivets seems simple enough but are the pieces glued also? Matt is there a procedure for doing this? Technique? Pitfalls? Ways to make it simple? Thanks in advance!! |

Yes, glued. Best to find a thick cardboard tube. Maybe strap 2 x 4 s to make a "crate". No experience with consumers shipping this sort of thing. Maybe a moving line instead of a freight company? |

That sounds expensive. Unless this mast is something special I would source one locally. |
