| Post subject: | Bow tangs |
Anyone know how the bow tangs (I believe thats the name for them - the s/steel part which the bridle wires are attached to on the hulls) are fixed to the hulls. There are 4 screw or bolt heads. I have a concave on one hull under the tang and it's not too solid, so I want to reinforce it before the tang gets ripped completely out in a gust. Are they screws or bolts. I presume they can simply be removed, holes epoxyed and then refitted? Any advice would be great. |

There is a small square plate of aluminum laminated within the bow. 1/4 inch thick and slightly larger that the 4 screw hole pattern. |

Thanks Matt. Can I presume the plate is glassed into to bow and so will not fall loose when the bow tang screws are removed? I gather this is the case as it would be easier from a manufacturing point of view? |
