| Post subject: | Hobie 14 mast step kit |
I have a hobie 14 and I want to sail this weekend, but not happy about stepping the mast on my own. I am unsure of the age of the cat but it has no hole in the mast base for a stepping kit but I can easily drill that. I have stepped the mast when sailing with a friend and it seemed a bit unstable even with the two of us. I have no mast stepping kit and I cant find anywhere in the UK that sells them. I do have a pretty well equiped machine shop, so could easily make a kit if I knew the distance between the holes, Does anyone have a kit they could measure for me, we dont get much sunshine in the UK so would hate to miss out this weekend while I wait for a kit To be shipped from the US |

You can use a piece of short line between the mast base hole and the mast step hole as a temp solution Steve |

A piece of line, never thought of that. I have a 2 piece mast so will try it with the lower half as a test. Thanks Steve |
